Breakthroughs, not benchmarks.
TheSingularity.watch is an observatory for the moment AI stops being a product and starts being a discovery engine — designing medicines, predicting protein structures, finding materials, and surfacing results no human had reached alone.
What we track
Real-world breakthroughs where AI played a material role in the discovery itself:
- Medicine & biology — drug discovery, protein design, diagnostics, genomics.
- Physics & materials — superconductors, fusion control, novel materials, simulation.
- Science & discovery — chemistry, mathematics, robotics-led experiments.
- Climate & energy — catalysts, batteries, carbon capture, grid optimization.
- Space & astronomy — exoplanets, signal classification, mission autonomy.
What we deliberately ignore
This is not another AI-industry news feed. We filter out:
- New model and chatbot releases
- GPU, chip, and datacenter news
- Funding rounds, valuations, and corporate drama
- Benchmark leaderboards and demos
- "AI will change everything" opinion pieces
If a story is about the tool rather than the discovery the tool enabled, it doesn't belong here.
How it works
An automated scanner reads scientific feeds (arXiv, bioRxiv, PubMed, Nature, EurekAlert), the open web, and curated X/Twitter accounts. Each candidate is scored for breakthrough significance and credibility, then a human reviews it before anything is published. Every story carries a source trail back to the paper, lab post, or thread it came from.
